We are very sad to announce the passing of Dr. Donald S. Fulton earlier this month.
The office is in transition and we will be in contact with patients soon about whether the practice will be closed or transferred to another doctor and how to move forward with your eyecare. Our deepest thanks to the community for their years of loyal support.
Dr. Donald S. Fulton, OD, age 78, of Monroe, beloved husband of Jane Flynn Fulton, passed away peacefully in his home on December 8, 2025. Donald was born in Derby on September 17, 1947, to the late William and Agnes (Hassett) Fulton. He was a graduate of Ansonia High School. He earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Connecticut and an additional bachelor’s as well as his doctorate from Pennsylvania College of Optometry. Dr. Fulton was in practice in Monroe and Thomaston for 52 years. He enjoyed playing golf and racquetball and will be remembered for his sense of humor, generosity and kindness. He loved special trips and family events. In addition to his beloved wife of fifty-two years, Donald is survived by his devoted children, Jeffrey Fulton and his wife Laura of Trumbull, Megan Maturo and her husband Mark of Orange, cherished grandchildren, Harper Fulton and Ellie Maturo, and his brother, William Fulton, U.S. Navy (Ret.) of Georgia.
